Assist the Front Office Manager in directing and supervising the activities of Reception/Cashier, Concierge, Bell Captain’s Desk and Telephone Office, Business Center. Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of Heads of Department. • Be pro-active, professional and friendly in all aspects of service and customer interaction. • Nurture an ongoing commitment to the personal and professional growth and development of oneself and team members. • Provide effective role-modeling for staff by ensuring that one's own performance and presentation are maintained at impeccable levels. • Demonstrate leadership for the company in the area of training and development of staff within your scope of responsibility. • Put in place and use mechanisms to track progress towards achievement of goals and monitor projects and/or your own work area • Possess the ability to effectively deliver training to staff. • Consistently achieve desired outcomes and maintain focus on key priorities. • Accept accountability and monitor own performance. • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage time and work priorities. • Be enterprising, open to new ideas and change in the workplace and seek more effective and better ways of carrying out your role. • Be co-operative and supportive of other team members through consulting, providing feedback and sharing information with others. • Consider the attitudes and perspectives of the guest and adapt to their differing needs. • Express ideas with clarity and confidence and in a logical manner. • Possess good administration and interpersonal skills and the ability to work to agreed timeframes and reporting schedules. • Confident to lead by example. • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage the demands of your position. • All operational activities at the Front Office and full understanding of emergency procedures. • Responsible for the shift and also for briefings and the accurate handover to the next Assistant Manager and the next shift. • Responsible for account queries, shift closing and account adjustments for the shift. • Responsible for keeping within the manning guide and payroll budget. • Deal with difficult guests or situations and strive for a win-win outcome. • A representative of the hotel and responsible for the hotel operationally in the absence of the Heads of Department and General Manager. • Assist in training of Front Office staff. Liaise training with the Front Office Manager. • In charge of accounting control aspects at the Front Desk. • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of foyer, reception area and the front of the building. • Responsible for the overall level of guest service in the department. Must liaise with the Front Office Manager and ensure that staffs are being trained and that a high quality of service is extended to our guests. • Co-ordinate with Security Department in the investigation of irregularities and undesirable guests. • Document any and all serious incidents that may occur. • Complete regular inspections of the hotel facilities and outlets. • To reinforce the hotel culture & spirit through teamwork and flexibility consistent with the Staff Handbook. • Ensure that personal grooming and hygiene standards are met as specified in the Staff Handbook. • Be aware of his/her work schedule and always gives adequate notice, should circumstance prevent him/her form adhering to that schedule. • Maintain at all times the privacy of hotel information. • Have a full understanding of the hotel’s policies and procedures, Occupational Health & Safety issues, Fire Emergency procedure and other policies that may be issued. • Attend formal training courses and on-the-job training sessions conducted by the department and the hotel. • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to in turn promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment. • Handle any guest complaints effectively and diplomatically to ensure the ultimate satisfaction of guests. • Ensure you consistently present yourself in a manner, which makes a clear statement of professionalism, maintaining a sense of pride on yourself that is reflected in both your appearance and your performance. • Perform all duties and responsibility in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve overall objectives of Assistant Manager. • At all times, project a favorable image of Duxton Hotels to enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor. • To assist the Front Office Manager in the implementation of any programme for the further development of the hotel.

Education: A diploma or degree qualification. Fluency in oral and written English Experience: Previous hotel-related experience desired. Other: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Good presentation and public speaking skills. Good in planning, organizing and co-ordination. Show up strong initiative and creative skills.
