GENERAL MISSION • To ensure that all items received are in accordance with the specification stated in the Purchase Order and Market List and the quality is of the hotel standard. RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS • Receive and check items passing through the receiving area. • Check and count all goods to be received per approved purchase order or daily market list. • Ensure that goods are in order, of good quality and according to the established specifications • To reject all goods which do not meet the specifications • Transfer goods received to their respective destinations. • To move accepted products to storage areas immediately to minimize employee theft and deterioration of product quality • Ensure proper documentation on all goods delivered to the hotel as well as those returned to the suppliers. • To be well versed in all descriptions and types of operating equipment for the Hotel, including maintaining catalogues, sample pictures of such items for reference. • Monitor returnable containers. • Prepare Receiving Records and Daily Receiving Record Summary. • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the receiving area. • To perform other tasks or assignments given by the Director of Finance from time to time. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES • Demonstrate awareness of hygiene safety policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same • Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures • Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Records daily details of all receipts from receipt documents onto stock records and ensure that the stock records are up-to-date. • Ensures that the requisitions are checked and acknowledge by the requesting department. • Check incoming goods against Invoice / Delivery Order for correct quantity and quality. • Records daily details of all issues from requisition vouchers onto stock records. • To be aware of the policies and procedures of the Hotel. COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Safeguard items received against poor quality and/or specification HUMAN RESPONSIBILITIES • To adhere to the grooming standards as set out in the employee manual and updated from time to time. • To comply with the employee handbook at all times. • Report any suspicious behaviour to their immediate superior REPORTING LINE To report to Chief Accountant and Director of Finance
