1. To arrive at work on time in the uniform provided, ensuring a neat and tidy appearance, according to the associate handbook.

2. To have a complete knowledge of the hotel product, including room types, rates, relative features and facilities, food and beverage outlets/promotions, spa and fitness center.

3. Ensure that all reports are prepared and completely on time.

4. Ensure that an effective and complete training program is in use and that all associates are well trained and retrained as needed. Particularly with correct chemical handling, fabric care and lifting techniques.

5. Ensure that Laundry SOPs are available, current and in effect and available for all associates to use as reference.

6. Ensure that par levels of linen, toweling and uniforms are current, a summary report should be sent to accounts. Take an accurate linen inventory bi-monthly. Take an accurate /write-off each period end prior to period close.

7. Avoid overtime through good management and immediate response to problems.

8. Immediate response to any guest problems and correspondence.

9. Ensure that any non-inventory item found in laundry should be taken immediately to lost and found department in housekeeping.

10. Development and implementation of programs designed to improve the efficiency of the operation and improve the service to our guests.

11. Maintain a system of absentee tracking.

12. Undertake regular forecasts of business levels, manpower and expenses.

13. Complete performance appraisals as specified by the human resources department.

14. Maintain a regular quality control inspection of department standards.

15. Regularly inspection machinery for signs of wear and tear, deterioration of hoses, belts, covers etc. Any defect or maintenance request should be logged via data base for action by the engineering department.

16. Develop and maintain a motivational working environment within the department and positive relations with other departments.

17. Provide associates counseling, support and guidance as required.

18. Maintain a cost effective roster system, which is flexible to occupancy.

19. Train associates to become multi skilled in all facets of laundry.

20. Maintain annual leave roster for low occupancy periods.

21. Initiate measures to minimize all wastage of chemicals.
