General Accountant

The General Accountant position is responsible for handling and preparing any monthly/yearly tax records and maintaining the General Ledger. In the absence of the Chief Accountant , he/she has to handle any government inspections but NOT to decide on behalf of the company or in place of the Chief Accountant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To verify daily banking from duplicate of bank receipt to the General Cashier reports.

• Check the Daily General Cashier Report.

• Follow up on delays in realizing deposit and return checks, to carry out monthly reconciliation of all hotel bank accounts.

• To maintain general ledger, starting from posting, adjusting, and printing and also to maintain the accounting records and financial statements based on Thai Accounting Standard.

• Carry out the function of collecting city ledger accounts with the assistance of Account Receivable. Carry out the function of Financial Controller when he/she is absent.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecast as well as maintaining budgetary control over resort’s expenditures.

• Organize and supervise month-end inventory count.

• Represent the Financial Controller for government when he/she is not available.

• To conduct departmental meetings when the Financial Controller is unable to attend Accounting Department meetings.

• To maintain a General Ledger as per instruction of the management based on the given guidance.

• To provide the daily reports as per instructed and file in the proper place for tax audit purpose.

• To prepare monthly tax reports and responsible for timely reporting and payment of taxes.

• Maintain Fixed Asset Register.

• Schedule work flow for and supervise:

o Accounts Payable Section

o Accounts Receivable Section

o Income Audit Section

o General Store Section

o Payroll

o Administration of Retirement Scheme

• Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by the Chief Accountant.

• Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar position in a 4* or 5* hotel

• Must have an accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CA) experience and background.

• An understanding of hospitality accounting, PMS hotel operating system and strong computer skills is desirable. Thorough knowledge of Excel and other accounting software is a must.

• Must possess good communications skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment.

• Must have the ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, joint venture partners and others.
