Restaurant Manager

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the short and long term planning and the day-to-day operations of the restaurant/bar within the Food & Beverage Department.

Duties and responsibilities:

● Ensure daily operational efficiency in the provision of service at Food & Beverage outlets.

● Prepares and reviews the job descriptions for all subordinates within the department

● Manages departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment.

● Conducts regular meetings with the restaurant/bar staffs.

● Overview all duty roster and attendance of restaurant/bar staffs.

● Maintains and enforces established sanitation levels.

● Adheres to and reinforces all Epikurean standards, policies, and procedures.

● Orders supplies for the department (e.g., china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs).

● Coordinate between kitchen and restaurants to prevent problem occurring.

● Ensure quality of food and service complies with established standard.

● Interact with guests and ensuring their satisfaction with food and service and obtain feedbacks on product quality and service level.

● Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings (Daily Briefing, BEO, Staff, Department and Intradepartmental).

● Sets a positive example in providing and ensuring exceptional customer service

● Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.

● Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.

● Empowers staff to provide excellent customer service.

● Strives to improve service performance.

● Emphasizes guest satisfaction and focuses on continuous improvement.

● Cleanliness inspections (front and back) of the house and maintenance check.

● Be visible and on the floor during peak hours and periodically check the restaurant/bar throughout the day.

● Conduct on-the-job training for all restaurant/bar staffs.

● Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in office work such as staff interview, monthly report, promotions, etc.

● Solve all staff problems which may occur.

● Carry out reasonable requests and other tasks from the Food & Beverage Manager when assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

• Previous experience managing a restaurant with a good size team of employees through motivation, coaching and development.
• l The ability to anticipate customer needs, multitask and change direction quickly
• l Working knowledge of hotel management and point of sale systems.
• l Advanced knowledge of Food & Beverage service policies and procedures.
• l Proven experience supervising a restaurant with a staff team of 15+ employees.
• l Ability to maintain a budget
• l Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision making skills ability
• l Proven excellence in customer service and experience to interact effectively with guests, all levels of management, associates and clientele, both inside and outside of the organization.
• l Self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
• l Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• l Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• l Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.
• l Speaks English

Education and Formal Training:

* l High school diploma or hospitality industry accredited course on the related field will be an added advantage.

Experience:

& l A minimum of 5 years experience and employment in a similar position
