Assess the credit worthiness of customers for accounts receivable based on a credit
As source data for performing credit reviews, refer such current publications as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Directory, Travel Agent Directories, corporation financial results reports other applicable.
Receive and review credit applications for accounts receivable applied for by individuals, companies and other organizations.
All documents relating to the credit review process such as credit application copies, letters, and credit review data for those whose credit is approved are filed alphabetically by the applicable individual, company or organization name. Documents for those in which credit was not approved is filed in the same manner.
Gather information regarding the credit rating of those applying and report any unfavorable information to the Director of Finance. Also, perform the appropriate procedures for credit cancellations. Issue an updated listing periodically for those individuals, companies, and organizations for which credit is currently extended to keep everyone involved informed.
Pay attention to guest ledger outstanding amounts and check Large Balance Account List daily. Discuss the List with Assistant Front Office Manager.
Confirm the collection status of the accounts receivable listed in the Schedule of accounts Receivable prepared by the Accounts Receivable Clerk. Attempt
Collection of all bad debts.
Prepare a report for uncollectible accounts receivable and request the Director of Finance to allow the write off as a bad debt.
Supervise the Payment Collector.
Exchange information regarding the customers and travel agencies with the Sales Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager. Prepare a report to the Director of Finance regarding all matters, which may have an impact on the collectability of accounts receivable.
Hold a Credit Committee Meeting at least once a month to report on the collectability status of accounts receivable and devise ways to collect.
Work closely with the Accounts Receivable Clerk to verify that vouchers and invoices are being prepared correctly and invoices are sent out promptly. Any Problems should be reported to the Director of Finance.
Handle all matters such as notice handling procedures and services with the credit card companies.
Make arrangements with collection agencies and attorneys representing the hotel for the collection of bad debts. Keep all documentation on file.
Other duties as instructed by a superior.

Understand thoroughly hotel’s credit policies and hotel operations
Excellent Skill in communicating with debtors
Knowledge of local business environment
5 years’ working experience in a similar capacity is preferred
