Basic Function:
Oversees and implements all allocated marketing activities for the property.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To liaise and manage all marketing activities relating to the concept, production and execution of marketing and promotional collateral to support hotel rooms, food & beverage and sales.
2. To plan advertising and PR schedule and budget for that.
3. To establish and maintain, through advertising and PR, a desirable and favorable image of the organization within the travel trade industry as well as in the local community.
4. To organize events/activities related to the advertising and PR of the property in respect to improving public goodwill. Make and formulate a plan and strategy for a calendar of events.
5. Work with appropriate departments to identify marketing opportunities and to develop the relevant support platforms in terms of collateral, promotions, production and public relations to help drive added awareness and demand.
6. To attend official functions as and when required and co-entertain these guests.
7. To co-ordinate and meet target dates with suppliers. (e.g. printers and advertising agencies on all job requirements).
8. To establish and maintain a visible and updated mailing list for all special interest groups to events marketing and press contacts.
9. To assist in the production of all printed material required. All print jobs to have director of sales and marketing approval. Maintain a tight grip on the pace and quality of jobs completion in the team.
10. Coordinate the production of in-house magazine or newsletter to give updates on activities in the hotel to our guests, clients as well as employees.
11. Create a resource center – offering newspaper and magazine clipping service and hotel related publications to ensure an effective communications and information systems.
12. To attend daily sales brief, meetings and give summary of marketing communications on activities regularly.
13. Set-up, manage social media accounts and sharing sites as relevant to the hotels markets (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Flickr, Instagram etc.) and develop social networks as required.
14. Monitor various media for positive and negative comments and discussions about the Hotel (Tripadvisor, blogs, forums) and ensure quality manager is formally informed and assist in responding.
15. To help develop a crisis management plan for the hotel in conjunction with executive committee team and local authorities’ guidelines and expectations.
16. To serve as spokesperson for the hotel driving times of crisis and emergency.
17. Developing long-range plans and goals for marketing communications, PR & promotions.
18. Preparing monthly reports and activities, supervising subordinates.
19. Assist in development, implementation, and promotion of programs and/or special events to increase food and beverage and events revenue. And achieve publicity in the appropriate publications.
20. To occasions help obtain market intelligence regarding a specifically assigned competitor hotel and their selling/ marketing strategies, new facilities etc.
21. To keep track of competitor’s activities on an ongoing basis through newspaper cutting or magazine clipping and report on them in the appropriate meetings.
22. Manage the hotel email database and e-communication activity inclusive of the EDM program. Ensure all visual and written communication (internal/external, offline/online) is fully aligned with the hotels positioning and brand parameters.
23. Develop branch names including: signage, CIP…
24. Be focused on online content creation, but also work with the Marketing Communications Team to develop overall communications strategies and rapid response plans.
25. Manage the hotel website content and the hotel microsite content – traffic and revenue generation, promotional content, image display.
26. Maintain an effective tracing system for files and paper work.
27. Manage any other tasks that may be periodically assigned by Director Sales of marketing and/or general manager.
