General Ledger Accountant

• The General Ledger Clerk maintains the general ledger and maintains a good working relationship within the department. Assisting in the preparation of the monthly financial statement is a major responsibility.

Essential duties and responsibilities – (Key activities)

• Develop a working knowledge of all procedures and operations as detailed in the Accounting Manual.
• Co-ordinate with all related accounting section heads for Journal Voucher preparation.
• Prepare accrued & prepaid expenses schedule and prepare recurring journal.
• Key in all Journal Vouchers data into the NWHTY Accounting System.
• Prepare schedule of deprecation & amortization of fixed assets and prepare recurring journal.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Compare budget to actual expenditure and report to the Accounts Officer when a variance in individual item occurs in order that remedial action can be taken.
• Perform General Cashier duties in his/her absence from the hotel.
• Share the responsibilities of the Accounts Officer with Chief Accountant in his/her absence from the hotel.
• Complete all special projects such as annual operations budget assigned by Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance on a timely basis.
• Prepare Monthly Balance Sheet Supporting Schedule.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the superiors.

Qualifications –

• College education major in Accounting
• Working permit in Accounting
• Additional improvement programs in Finance is preferred

Experience –

• At least 2 years’ working experience in book-keeping
• Experience in operation of accounting software
• 1 year’s working experience in hotel accounting department
• Experience in Opera is preferred
