PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the assigned boat and all on board passengers (guest or staff) with uncompromising level of safety and comfort.
- Maintain standard safety and comfort in the vessel at all times. During the trip, all decision will rely on you base in your assessment without jeopardizing the safety of all passengers on board. In this connection you must inform the Department Head or Department Supervisor through VHF radio on all changes plan. Make sure to prepare all necessary equipment needed before the said activity of the guest like cold towels, water, radio for communication, cellphone in case the guide is out of the resort’s area, first aid kit.
- Prior to departure, make sure to reconfirm the plans and details of the trip with the Department Head or Department Supervisor/GAC to make sure everything is well coordinated .
- Ensure boats are not overloaded. If there is a special request by the guests, you are required to clear this with the Department Head or Supervisor. You must adhere to the loading information given in the Guest Service Directory (GSD).
- Ensure boat is ready and completely set-up one hour before the said activity as per standard.
- Must Constantly monitor all guests on board to ensure satisfaction and be able to know if there are problems and act accordingly and immediately.
- Be responsible for the safety of the boat at all times specially during bad weather such as typhoon or any other natural circumstances that may arise. You are required to guard your boat during the said weather condition. In clear days, one Boat Captain (on rotation basis) is required to be in the island. This is to accommodate earlier activities that the guests may ask and also assist the Security in emergency cases like Code Blue.
- Ensure that the assigned boat and its trailer are always inspected to keep them in good working condition.
- Render as beach closer. Make sure to fold umbrellas and beach cushions properly. Kayaks, snorkeling equipment and sailboats must be rinsed with fresh water and secured all the times.
- Perform beach attendant duties if necessary. In the days that you have no boat trips you are required to be at the beach hut or beach club to assist guests.
- Responsible for the proper housekeeping of assigned boat and safekeeping sof all the equipment in the boat and work area.
- Be a willing team worker at all times. Accept and perform special assignments within or outside his Department as requested by his Immediate Head.
- Keep abreast of all company policies, code of conduct & behavior by reading and understanding all guidelines issued pertaining to such matters; and performing such duties and functions as specified in the guidelines.
- Ready to perform any outstanding duties required by the Activity Manager.
