Job Description
MAJOR FUNCTION
Responsible for supervising and coordinating the tasks of all Security Officers on a shift. General responsibilities include shift leader duties, ensuring all security rounds take place, all emergency situations are properly handled, department training and assistance with inventory control. Other duties include normal Security functions to ensure the safety and security of the Hotel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure efficient running of the Security Department and proper handling of safety and security issues as they arise.
- Coordinate the tasks and operations of the Security Department for assigned shifts.
- Project courtesy, hospitality and professional behaviour across your department at all times with guests and fellow colleagues.
- Understand local safety and security laws and regulations and ensure the Hotel complies at all levels.
- Provide ongoing communication to all areas under your supervision regarding policies, programmes and procedures.
- Implement the Hotel’s security/fire/safety policies and procedures for all emergency situations.
- Conduct the regular inspection and maintenance of security/fire and safety equipment installed.
- Collaborate with third party contractors where required in the installation or maintenance of security systems.
- Ensure all security measures are in place throughout the Hotel by conducting walk-throughs, monitoring surveillance systems.
- Oversee security and safety training programmes in the Hotel.
- Train security officers in established security policies, procedures and protocols.
- Make recommendations where appropriate for safety and security improvements.
- Be readily available to assist with the handling of suspicious or disruptive guests in the Hotel.
- In the absence of your supervisor or Manager, conduct investigations into matters relating to missing assets, fires and accidents where theft/fraud/injury or damage are suspected.
- Conduct routine inventory taking to ensure stock levels for operating equipment and other items are up to par for your department.
- Be actively involved in the training and induction for new Employees in the Security Department.
- Deliver training programmes as required and coordinate training tasks with the HR department and trainers.
- Coach Line Employees to ensure operating procedures are adhered to.
- Communicate potential issues with regard to Employee misconduct and potential disciplinary action to your supervisor.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the Employee Handbook and adhere to regulations contained therein.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the Hotel’s policy relating to fire, safety and health, and ensure all precautions are taken to safeguard against incidents for areas under your supervision.
- Perform other assignments to meet business needs as directed by your superiors.
Job Requirement
- Minimum Two years working experience required.
- Microsoft Office knowledge required.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to communicate fluently in the primary language of the workplace both verbally and nonverbally. Fluent in English is encourage/required (depending on guest contact level).
- Strong leadership, sound judgment, and superior decision-making, problem-solving and follow up skills.
- Excellent guest service skills. Ability to respond to handle difficult or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong understanding and appreciation of the concept of luxury and hospitality.
