Security Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Security Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily security operations and ensuring the safety, security and protection of guests, associates, visitors, contractors and hotel assets. The Security Supervisor leads assigned shifts, coordinates outsourced security guards, responds to incidents and emergencies, conducts inspections and ensures compliance with hotel security, safety and fire life safety procedures.

DUTIED AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Shift Operations

- Supervises all security activities during assigned shifts.

- Conducts pre-shift briefings and post-shift handovers.

- Assign duties and deployment positions for outsourced security guards.

- Ensure all security posts are always properly manned.

- Maintains discipline, appearance and performance standards among security personnel.

- Reports manpower shortages or operational concerns to management.

2. Security Operations

- Conducts regular patrols of guest areas, back-of-house areas, parking areas, loading docks and perimeter boundaries.

- Ensures effective access control procedures are implemented.

- Monitors, contractor, supplier and visitor access.

- Oversees vehicle entry and exit control.

- Verifies proper key control procedures are followed.

- Supervises lost and found procedures.

- Assists guests and associates with security-related concerns. Maintains a visible security presence throughout the property. 3. CCTV & Control Room Monitoring

- Reviews CCTV operations during assigned shifts.

- Ensures suspicious activities are identified and investigated promptly. Coordinates response actions based on CCTV observations.

- Oversees vehicle entry and exit control.

- Verifies proper key control procedures are followed.

- Supervises lost and found procedures.

- Assists guests and associates with security-related concerns. Maintains a visible security presence throughout the property. 3. CCTV & Control Room Monitoring

- Reviews CCTV operations during assigned shifts.

- Ensures suspicious activities are identified and investigated promptly. Coordinates response actions based on CCTV observations.

- Reports equipment malfunctions immediately.

- Maintains confidentiality of surveillance information.

- Fire Life Safety

- Conducts daily fire safety inspections.

- Ensure fire exits, evacuation routes and emergency access roads remain unobstructed.

- Inspect fire extinguishers, hose reels and emergency equipment within assigned areas.

- Reports fire hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.

- Participates in fire drills and emergency exercises.

- Acts as Floor Warden or Emergency Response Team Leader when assigned.

4. Emergency Response

- Responds immediately to Fire Alarms, Medical Emergencies, Security Incidents, Guest Disturbances, Accidents, Natural Disasters, Power Failures.

- Coordinates initial emergency actions until management arrives.

- Secures incident scenes when required.

- Assists emergency services during incidents.

- Ensures proper documentation of emergency events.

5. Investigations & Reporting

- Conduct preliminary investigations into incidents and accidents.

- Interviews witnesses and collect evidence when required.

- Prepares accurate and timely Incident Reports.

- Documents are all unusual occurrences in the Security Daily Log.

- Escalates significant incidents to the Assistant Chief Security and Chief Security immediately.

6. Training & Development

- Trains and coaches outsourced security guards on Hotel Security Procedures, Access Control, Emergency Response, Fire Safety, Customer Service Standards

- Conducts on-the-job training for newly assigned personnel.

- Participates in departmental training programs.

- Promote security awareness among associates.

7. Guest Service

- Maintains professional and courteous interactions with guests.

- Helps and directions when required.

- Supports VIP arrivals, special events and functions.

- Handles guest complaints related to security matters professionally.

8. Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintains Security Occurrence Logbook, Patrol Records, Visitor Records, Contractor Records, Key Control Records, Incident Reports.

- Complete all reports before the end of each shift.

- Ensure all security equipment is operational and properly maintained.

- Monitors uniform and grooming standards of outsourced guards.

CRITERIA:

1. Minimum two (2) years of hotel security experience.

2. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

3. Knowledge of security operations, fire safety and emergency response procedures.

4. Good report writing and investigation skills.

5. Good command of spoken and written English.

6. Computer literacy includes Microsoft Office applications.

7. Strong leadership and communication skills.

8. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.

9. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
