Develops and implements strategies for achieving department goals

Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategies and programs as appropriate

Directs the operation of the Engineering Department

Recruits and selects qualified candidates

Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential

Adheres to hotel policies and procedures

 Minimum of three - five years work experience in the hotel industry in Engineering

 Minimum one - two years supervisory experience preferred

 Bachelor’s degree preferred

 Able to resolve conflicts guests, supervisor and employee

 Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork

 Advance knowledge of building management and engineering

 Excellent organizational skills

 General understanding of insurance requirements

 Good oral and written communication skills

 Experience working in a union environment

 Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and life safety operating systems
