Assistant Spa Manager

Job description:

Administration

• Coordinates all Spa training and development programs, ensuring the correct standards are followed.
  
• Keeps abreast of new research and developments relating to Spa.
  
• Ensures accurate maintenance of all records necessary for spa operations.
  
• Maintains records of all treatment reservations and to oversee all spa reservations to ensure the level of professionalism is maintained.
  
• Gives feedback and communicates with the Spa Manager regarding the decoration, rearrangement of equipment and any other aesthetic arrangements.
  

Customer Service

• Provides exceptional services to guests and internal customers in other department at all time to maintain positive interactions with good working relationships.
  
• Ensures all associates provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  
• Guest and associate enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up.
  

Financial

• Maximises associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
  
• Ensures that the department's operational budget is in line and all cost are strictly controlled.
  
• Implements and monitors all systems of stock control and inventory for all operating areas in the Spa.
  

Operational

• Ensures the smooth and efficient running of the operation areas of the Spa through effective supervision.
  
• Prepares maintenance and cleaning schedules as well as associates roster.
  
• Records and follow-up any recognised maintenance requirement in equipment or plant works as they occur. Submits a monthly report on all aspects of the Spa operation to the Spa Manager.
  
• Maintains careful and diligent security control of the total Spa and surrounding public areas with regards to the persons and property therein. Records any such incidents to the Spa and Security Manager as required.
  
• Ensures all Policy and Procedures concerning lost property, incident reports and guest complaints are observed.
  
• Assists in all aspect of administration, reception, gymnasium, therapist duties as required. 
  

Personnel

• Ensures that all associates report for duty punctually and are correctly attired at all times.
  
• Orientates new associates and conduct training courses for newly hires and existing associates.
  
• Assists with the recruitment of new potential associates in liaison with the Spa Manager and Human Resources Department.
  
• Conducts annual Performance Development Discussions with associates, supports them in their professional development goals.

• Ideally with a professional diploma or certificate in Spa
  
• Minimum 2 years work experience as Assistant Manager - Spa, or Senior Spa Supervisor in the similar sized operation.
  
• Good practical, operational and adequate administrative skills are an asset.
