Chief Engineer

SUMMARY

-Responsible for the efficient operation of the hotel property and all its equipment, ancillary maintenance and repair services and protection of the Owner’s asset. Structural aspects of the hotel as well as the maintenance of grounds and external facilities all fall within the span of responsibility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provides advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.

-Ensures the effective financial management of the engineering department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works programs and engineering plans with regular monitor and review. Responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management.

-Plan an energy management program which includes conduction regular education and training programs, objectives and action plans with regular supervision and review.

-Contributes to guest satisfaction standards by ensuring that technical support services quickly address, and where possible, anticipate, individual needs.

-Ensures adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures.

-Ensures a technically competent engineering staff by selecting, training and developing a motivated, well-qualified maintenance team.

-Ensures the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program. Carry regular inspection of the building and monitor the execution of the program.

-Ensures the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties.

-Work with Financial Controller to produce and manage Department’s Budget.

-Perform any other tasks assigned by upper management.

Entitled to the full mode of the company

-Bachelor degree or above in Engineering or relevant fields.

-At least 2 year Experience in Chief Engineer position in an international 4-5 star hotel/resort with clear track record.

-Preferred to have 3 year experience in the hospitality industry, with mid-scale to luxury and international experience, preferred in Asia.

-Proficiency in English (oral and written).

-Solid knowledge of MS Office.

-Good organizational, problem solving skills and multitasking abilities.
