Job Summary – (Role Summary)
Spa Therapist is responsible for the delivery of an efficient, friendly and results-driven spa experience and one who can exhibit an excellent and consistent level of customer service. You are the ‘spa experience’ that guests will have as they entrust themselves in your capable and expert hands, so you will be expected to execute treatments, engage guests in consultation and repartee, while making them feel as if they have entered a completely different environment from the one they came from.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities of the role)
• Demonstrates co-operation and trust with colleagues, supervisors, teams and across departments.
• Participate as a team player and establishes strong working relationships to deliver positive results.
• Continually seeks to improve performance through individual efforts and with the assistance of others.
• Primary focus on sense of guest arrival/departure, hands-on treatment, cleanliness, room ambience, and overall spa experience. Empathetic, friendly, and able to make people feel beautiful inside and out. Expectation: Guests are delighted with their spa experience and spa environment.
• Establish a long term relationship with customers. Expectation: Maintain a percentage of return business from monthly walk-in local customers. Maintain a professional and friendly (not familiar) therapist-client relationship to develop brand loyalty and a regular client data base.
• Can provide expertise in all areas of retail and treatments. Able and available to answer any questions that guests may have and give them extensive feedback and demonstration if applicable; with an ability to execute suggestive and add-on sales. Expectation: Always provides professional information and/or assistance in a friendly manner (not familiar) even when under pressure. Has expert knowledge on all treatments and products, and does not hesitate to ‘ask for the sale’ in a subtle, professional and friendly way.
• Takes control of guest booking once guest is endorsed by Reception. Expectation: Guest is personally attended to and treatment/s is/are delivered with accordance to treatment protocols, starts and ends according to prescribed treatment time ensuring that all service performance indicators are met.
• Coordinates the maintenance schedule of treatment room. Expectation: Room is spotless before and after each treatment. Reports and schedules repair works and periodic maintenance. Keeps proper documentation of work-progress or status.
• Monitors, maintains and re-stocks assigned room with products, supplies, disposables and work tools. Expectation: Ensures that stock levels are maintained, all materials are spotless and unexpired. First in first out use of inventory.
• Participates in weekly meeting with Spa Department Heads, staff relations, training, productivity, equipment and facility maintenance, inventory, stocking and control. Expectation: Meetings are documented, productive, thorough, and timely. Action plans are implemented, followed up and measured.
• Maintains a commitment to the company vision and the “spirit” of the organization. Expectation: Company commitment is consistent and positive.
• Monitors personal performance tracking reports like attendance, training sessions attended, incentives earned, and other work-related reports required. Expectation: Reports are honest, neat, accurate and on-time.
• Communicates clearly and directly with supervisor and colleagues concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability within the team. Maintains team preparedness by constantly participating in training activities. Expectation: Communication is documented, ongoing, clear, concise, and complete.
• This job description is simply an outline of the major responsibilities, which may change as the spa evolves and changes. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as required.
• Able to work overtime when needed.
• The position of Therapist – Aesthetician or Masseuse is dynamic but routine. He/she is essential at all hours of spa operations unless operational requirements suggest otherwise.
