JOB SUMMARY

The Stewarding Attendant assists the Steward Manager the daily operations of the department. The individual is responsible for maintaining an organised, clean and sanitised Food and Beverage back-of-house area.

THE ROLE

o Performs the daily tasks of the department including opening and closing shift duties. Polishing of glassware and mis-en-place preparation, proper storage and count of operating equipment at the end of the day to ensure smooth operations of the Culinary division.

o Responsible for making sure all plates, glasses, bowls and silverware are perfectly cleaned between uses.

o Responsible for organising, cleaning and sanitising the back-of-house Food & Beverage area and providing all outlets and functions with clean operating equipment.

o Ensure the kitchen and storage areas are kept clean at all times. This includes cleaning industrial kitchen appliances, such as stoves, grills, freezers and ovens.

o To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all cleaning procedures, use of dishwashing machines and the type of chemicals to be used.

o General Education Certificate / Diploma

Work Experience

o Experiences in similar roles at luxury hotels/resort

Technical Skills

o Working knowledge of chemical and cleaning machinery is of advantage

o Good command of written and spoken English
