MAIN DUTIES

Administration

• Follow the guideline from Sofit Supervisor and management level

• Effective scheduling of attendance.

• Knowledge and adherence of Standard Operating Procedures Manual.

• Maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the SOfit.

• Maintain accurate records as required by provincial regulations.

• Attend weekly/monthly departmental communication meetings and to represent Fitness Centre in weekly Spa departmental meetings.

Job Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Exercise menu and instruct guest in request

• Assist guest in using Sofit machines

• Maintain and sanitize equipments in proper conditions at all times

• Develop and direct safe exercise programmes involving all aspects of the fitness centre.

• Develop and administer and co ordinate programmes including aerobics and special programmes.

• Administer exercise prescriptions.

• Develop criteria for fitness evaluations.

• Recognize contraindications to exercise.

• Develop and assist with promotional activities.

• Develop proper forms for correspondence with medical referrals and informed consent.

• Attend departmental staff meetings.

• Maintain the standard set up of Sofit amenities

• Responsible for guest assessments, to include, but not limited to:

a. Guest interviews

b. Strength and flexibility assessments

c. Body composition analysis

d. Sub maximum exercise tests

e. Personalized exercise programme development and implementation

• Exercise leadership to include:

a. Aerobic classes where applicable

b. Cardiovascular conditioning

c. Stretching

d. Strength training

e. Martial Arts where applicable

• Instruct and council members in all areas of exercise prescription, nutrition and stress Management.

• Assist guests in setting realistic, obtainable fitness goals and objectives.

• Develop and coordinate all special events at the Fitness Centre.

• Participate actively in all scheduled meetings, emergency drills, training sessions and community events promoting the facility.

• Develop and implement marketing strategies which will enhance the quality of services at the facility.

• Review all materials which are displayed on bulletin boards.

• Complete all administrative forms necessary for efficient functioning.

• Maintain a professional image at all times while dressing properly and speaking positively on behalf of the facility.

• Present an appropriate fitness model to members by staying in shape.

• Design and implement all controls for classes which may include attendant sheets and starting/stopping times.

Financial and Revenue Responsibilities

1. Maintain the facility in peak condition at all times.

2. Prepare and present monthly expenses reports and to assist in the preparation of annual operations.

Training and Human Resources Management

• Be understanding hotel regulation and master all knowledge in Staff manual

• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Employee Relations

1. Ensure Sofit maintains a positive relationship with all departments in the Spa and Hotel.

2. Responsible for all aspects i.e. hiring, recognition, progressive corrective action.

3. Responsible for the efficient training of all Fitness Centre/Aerobics employees in all aspects of job tasks.

4. Ensure employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel's policy relating to safety

5. Responsible for all Spa departments training in pertinent emergency procedures and ensuring all departments are well versed in Fitness Centre operations (cross training).

6. Master and adhere to all hotel standards as stated in the employee handbook.

7. Conduct Fitness Centre department performance appraisals on a timely manor.

8. Ensure cross training of all employees in Fitness Centre department and to facilitate training in other spa departments.

To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Guest Service Responsibilities

1. Ensure the facility is in peak condition at all times (operations and cleanliness).

2. Ensure guest/member satisfaction at all times by ensuring that safety and service is always the Spa's first priority.

Miscellaneous

• All ambassadors are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.

• All ambassadors may be assigned to other duties in the hotel as and when required by business levels.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Health and Safety

• Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified

• Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures

• Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees

• Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes etc.

• Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others

To be fully conversant with:

• Hotel fire procedures

• Hotel security procedures

• Hotel Health and Safety policy and procedures

• Hotel Facilities and attractions

• Hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures

• Sofitel Keys of Luxury and Appearance guidelines

• Sofitel “BE Magnifique” vision and its corresponding strategies

• Methods of accepted payment of the company

• Short and long term company marketing promotions
