LEGAL ADVISOR based in Vietnam

Mission　

Will assist the APAC Legal Director of an International Hotel listed company with researching specific questions related with legal aspects arisen in SEA Region and in special with queries related with Vietnam laws and policies. The Legal associate will be exposed to a variety of areas, with primary focus on hospitality law.

Main Responsibilities

In particular, will assist helping the APAC Legal Director and Operational Managing Director in the day by day administrative/legal tasks in monitoring the corporate secretariat duties of the company in Vietnam, the network of outside counsel in Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar and implement action plans and strategies to address issues affecting the Hotel Company business.

In particular,

• Assist the APAC Legal Director to provide legal advice and legal support to management team in Ho Chi Minh City office with regard to Vietnamese legal matters, as well as, a variety of matters arising in the SEA region advising on hotel operations.

• Liaise with our network of external law firms based in each jurisdiction (Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar) and appropriate external parties.

• Draft management agreements and other hotel-related agreements; monitor compliance with local laws; oversee legal requirements and documents at hotel pre-opening stage.

• Handle, drafting and reviewing, a variety of commercial agreements.

• Provide legal advice to operations team as required; interpret external legal advice and assist in executing strategies to manage legal risks; keep abreast of key legislative changes.

• Provide legal support and advice to the finance, operations, human resources and sales & marketing teams, as well as, handle insurance related matters.

• Enforcing internal control policies, guidelines, processes and procedures and develop contract templates and forms relating to various type of local transactions.

• Protect and further enhance the value and reputation of the company and its brands.

Requirements

• Be qualified as Vietnamese Lawyer and proven experience in Vietnamese Law

• Minimum 3-year experience in a similar position as in house lawyer or in a law firm in Vietnam.

• Fluency in oral and written Vietnamese and English

• Interest and experience in Hospitality and or Civil Law preferred.

• Good legal research techniques

• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Outstanding service orientation, goal orientation and attention to details
