DIRECTOR OF SALES

To achieve, if not exceed, annual, pre-determined hotel sales targets as outline in the Marketing Plan, as well as to ensure the development of increased hotel sales long term. To effectively coordinate and administer the sales functions of the department which includes the implementation of the hotel’s marketing and sales activities plans.

Main Responsibilities:

2.1 To maximize occupancy, average rate and profits of the hotel through planning, guidance and training of the hotel sales personnel.

2.2 To represent the sales functions and needs of the hotel in the development of the Company’s sales policy.

2.3 To identify market needs by periodical guest-survey and to be knowledgeable on market movements and seasonal influences that may affect the hotel’s productivity.

2.4 To define target markets to be solicited, utilising data contained in the hotel’s computer system and seasonal market movements.

2.5 To direct the development of sales sollication strategies, rate-structure and special promotions to corporate and travel industry accounts from both domestic and international markets.

2.6 To direct the development of special marketing and sales plans to special account, trade-show participants and unique sales and marketing situations.

2.7 To establish sales targets and higlight any variances with actual sales figures and recommend what action should be taken to remedy significant variances.

2.8 To maintain a sales filling system and to create individual account files; to monitor this data by periodic checks on clients profiles.

2.9 To maintain personal contact with key customers and to back up the activities of any member of the sales team when required.

2.10 To provide feed-back and counsel to the General Manager on all sales-related activities.

2.11 To assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their wel-fare, safety and development.

2.12 To assist in the training of the employees ensuring that hey have the necessary skills to perform their duties with maximum efficiency.

2.13 To supervise the employees within the department, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained.

2.14 To respond to any changes in the departmental function as dictated by the industry, company or hotel.
