Sommelier

- Organize and supervise wine sales and service in the outlets.

- Inform guests about the various types of wines available and its prices.

- Recommending wine based on cost, personal preference, and cuisine choice to patrons.

- Providing expert wine recommendations to customers and making recommendations on food and wine pairings.

- Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware.

- Store open bottles properly to maintain a strong taste.

- Advising on the wine menu (working with chefs and managers).

- To ensure that wine is stored and displayed properly.

- Controlling wine inventory (Liaising with vendors and internal departments) and ensuring that the wine cellar is fully stocked.

- Communicate with wine suppliers, staying updated on the market offers.

- Collaborating with winemakers to upgrade selections.

- Organizing wine tasting events.

- Responsible for the training and education of all those involved in sales and service of wine products. This includes arranging outside consultants and suppliers who provide wine training.- To ensure that clients are of legal drinking age, ask them to show their identification.

- Comply with all health and safety regulations.

- Other tasks as assigned by managers.

- Wine certificate holder like WSET (The Wine and Spirits Education Trust) and related degrees.

- Diploma in Hospitality Management is an advantage.

- Previous experience as a Sommelier or in hospitality is a plus.

- In-depth understanding of a variety of wine types, vineyards, and wineries.

- Knowledge of Wine and Food pairings.

- Good command in English.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willing to work in the evenings (night shits) and weekends.

- Adherence to alcohol-handling laws and regulations.
