Mô tả công việc

  • Assists to conduct regular departmental meetings and ensures they are effective.
  • Implements strategic events sales and planning, maximising sales data (including Envision) for sound decisions.
  • Establishes an efficient Catering/Function Sales record to track all bookings and provides accurate reports for monthly consolidation.
  • Assists to establish an efficient Catering/Function Sales record to ensure that all businesses booked are properly tracked.
  • Spends time in each event to ensure they are well managed by the Conferences and Banquets team.
  • Liaises closely with operational departments to meet guest requests and expectations, gathers guest feedback, and ensures product and service quality.
  • Handles guest and employee inquiries courteously, resolving or escalating complaints with prompt follow-up.
  • Maximises employee productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet financial and guest goals.
  • Achieves monthly and annual event revenue targets, while supporting preparation of the annual Marketing Business Plan.
  • Seeks ways to maximise revenue through cross-selling and upselling.
  • Ensures compliance with hotel, company, and legal requirements in financial reporting, money handling and licensing.
  • Conducts market surveys and competitor research; develops, monitors and evaluates catering objectives, strategies and action plans with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Pre-qualifies and targets major Companies and Government departments, utilising Catering database and develop appropriate and effective sales solicitation strategies to increase Hotel’s market share.
  • Calls on existing and potential clients, reports findings, and develops effective sales strategies to increase market share.
  • Makes sales trips to companies and government departments to explore new opportunities and establish strong contacts.
  • Implements event action plans as per the Marketing Plan and maintains detailed knowledge of hotel facilities, features and services.
  • Implements operational standards from Hyatt International Manuals, positioning the hotel as a trendsetter in catering creativity.
  • Achieves the monthly and annual personal target and the Events revenue.
  • Continuously seeks ways to maximise revenues and profits by cross selling and upselling other facilities and service.
  • Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
  • Works closely with other Department Heads, ensuring cooperation and guest satisfaction, and fosters teamwork within Event Sales.
  • Plans and implements training programmes, including Smart Selling Courses, and develops employee skills through coaching and mentoring.
  • Plans and makes Sales trips to Companies and Government departments which are our current and potential clienteles to explore into new Catering business opportunities
  • Supports Hyatt’s Values and Culture, provides feedback on Employee Engagement Survey results and ensures follow-up improvements.
  • Oversees implementation of Personal Business Plans for Events employees and maintains knowledge of statutory employee relations legislation.
  • Maintains strong professional relationships with competitor hotels, tour operators and travel agents.
  • Adapts to industry, company and hotel changes in Events function.
  • Responds to changes in the Events function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
  • Carries out other reasonable duties as assigned.

Yêu cầu công việc

  • At least 2 years as Director of Events or 3 years as Assistant Director in a 4 & 5-star international hotel.
  • Degree or diploma in Hotel/Business Management, Event Management, or Marketing.
  • Pre-opening experience is a strong advantage.
  • Develop and execute business, marketing, and budget plans; achieve or exceed revenue and profit goals.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the Events team; foster teamwork and high performance.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Problem-solving mindset; entrepreneurial and results-driven.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management ability; able to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Creativity and attention to detail in event design and execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Opera, Cvent, Lanyon, or other event management systems is an advantage.
