ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Prepare documentation for daily business 2. Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous reception of guests 3. Record and administer arrivals and departures 4. Assist in training new staff members, coach them and monitor their performance 5. Ensure the desk is covered at all times, allocating meal breaks sensibly 6. Full awareness of current daily status of Hotel 7. Ensure smooth hand over to next shift 8. Thoroughly conversant with all room types, décor and outlook 9. Communication and recording of complaints 10. Be aware of daily functions, events, VIP and group arrivals 11. To carry out any other duties as required SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel: 1. Ensure full liaison with other members of the team 2. Strong communication with other departments, especially Reservations and Concierge 3. Strong relationship with guests and internal customers 4. Key relationship with Reception Manager, Guest Relations Manager, Assistant Managers and Front Office Manager

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: 1. Must be able to speak, write and converse freely in English 2. Must be able to speak, write and converse freely in the language spoken in the area 3. Must be able to speak in one additional language other than the first two 4. Must be able to lift heavy luggage 5. Must be able to stand 9hrs a day while maintaining a smile and positive attitude 6. Must be proactive QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education University degree in hospitality or related subjects preferred Experience Min. 2 years working experience required in Front Office operations Grooming All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Marriott International standards.
