Key responsibilities of the role include:

Oversee the entire hostel operations and its P&L.
Oversee guest services, F&B, and security functions to ensure guest service and satisfaction, efficient operations and compliance with quality standards is met.
Directly supervise employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the hostel’s policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Review room inventory with sales and assist in selling strategies to maximize room revenue.
Maintain proactive human resources activities to ensure employee motivation, development, and compliance with established policies and procedures and labour regulations.
Partner with senior management and make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the company and brand loyalty.
Monitor product quality standards in all areas of the hostel as it relates to the appearance, maintenance and cleanliness; ensures preventative maintenance programs are in place to protect the physical assets of the hostel.
Responsible for implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hostel which supports Nexy’s overall objectives.
Oversee the budgeting and expenses of the hostel and the priorities that evolve due to budgeting.
Compile, review, reconcile, prepare and analyse entries to facilitate the bookkeeping function.
Complete monthly financial reports for the Head Office.
Prepare financial statements, periodic forecasts and annual budget to provide support to ensure timely, accurate information.
Travel to any required meetings, conferences, or events.
Other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the hostel.

You should:

Ensure the efficient and effective running of the hostel.
Continuously “raise the bar” by improving standards of performance, redefining the hostel experience by achieving outstanding customer satisfaction.
You must lead by example to set standards for all staff to follow and make it clear what is expected of staff with regards to customer service.
Be keen to grow the Nexy brand and support its roll-out.

Passion for hospitality and the hostel market
Fluent in English.
Passionate for delivering excellent customer service and good team leader.
Degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
Minimum two years management experience in a hotel or hostel
