JOB SUMMARY

The Carpenter & Painter is responsible for the maintenance of wooden equipment, furniture and related fittings throughout the hotel. The individual will also ensure that all granite, marble, grouting, tiles, cement, concrete walls, floor and ceilings are maintained and repaired as necessary. The Carpenter & Painter also undertakes all painting and varnishing and polishing work throughout the hotel, including sign painting, and spray painting.

THE ROLE

o Repairs all wooden equipment, furniture and related fitting throughout all function rooms, banquet stores and banquet office, guest-rooms, public areas within the hotel.

o Constructs cupboards, shelves and other furniture together with fittings as required by the hotel.

o Repairs or renews wallpaper for the entire hotel and shops.

o Fixes hooks, locks, brackets, clothes lines, towel racks, TV, stands, and doors.

o Repairs all stone, marble, granite, tiles, cement and concrete surfaces throughout the hotel.

o Carries out re-grouting program within the hotel, including the absolute necessity to ensure all guest-rooms, bathrooms and public area toilets are properly grouted according to schedule. Ensures all tiling and plaster work is in good repair.

Qualification

o General Education Certificate / Diploma

Work Experience

o At least 3 years of working experience either with a reputable builder contractor or hotel

Technical Skills

o Possess skill in at least one of the following areas: Painting, varnishing, carpentry, masonry or upholstery
