Assistant General Manager

Responsibilities:

- Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of operations, including but not limited to coordinating and supervising renovation of art studio and fit-out activities, guest services, housekeeping, restocking of hotel amenities and art supplies, maintenance, and food and beverage services. Develop standard operating procedures and ensure smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining high standards of service excellence. Comfortable assisting all aspects of our operations, including reception, answering guest queries via emails and other channels, inspecting housekeeping, and other ongoing duties.

- Guest Experience: Champion a culture of exceptional guest service, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable and personalized experience. Solicit feedback and implement strategies to continuously enhance the guest experience.

- Community Engagement: Cultivate relationships with local artists, and identify B2B opportunities. Organize art-related events, workshops, and exhibitions to enrich the guest experience and engage the local community.

- Marketing and Promotion: Maintain strong online presence across OTA/booking portals, social media, and other channels. Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to promote the art retreat and attract guests.

- Compliance and Risk Management: Act as legal representative and liaise with local authorities. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and ensure permits are up-to-date. Implement measures to mitigate risks and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.

- Team Building and Management: Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team of staff/contractors as we grow, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide ongoing support, coaching, and development opportunities to empower team members to excel in their roles.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a boutique hotel or similar setting.

- Strong command of English and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests, staff, and the local community.

- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving start-up environment.

- Balance of strategic thinking and operational rigor. Ideally, has been part of setting up a business before.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

- Passion for art and creativity, with an interest in supporting emerging artists is a plus.
