Cluster Director of Engineering

• Lead and provide strategic direction for the Engineering & Technical Services function across the Bà Nà Complex and Holiday Inn Resort Ba Na Hills.

• Oversee all aspects of engineering operations, maintenance, facilities, MEP systems, utilities and technical services across the cluster.

• Take overall responsibility for the pre-opening Engineering function, ensuring all technical systems, facilities and equipment are fully ready for hotel opening.

• Lead and coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, snagging, defect rectification and project handover activities with the Owner, Project Team, consultants and contractors.

• Develop and implement comprehensive Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize operational disruption.

• Ensure all critical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, fire & life safety, BMS, lifts, kitchen, laundry and other hotel facilities, are properly operated and maintained.

• Establish effective engineering SOPs, maintenance standards, emergency procedures and contingency plans for the cluster.

• Manage energy, water and utility consumption, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability and cost performance.

• Prepare and manage the Engineering annual budget, CAPEX plans and major repair & replacement projects.

• Monitor engineering costs, equipment performance and asset lifecycle, ensuring effective asset management and cost control.

• Ensure compliance with Vietnamese statutory regulations, health & safety requirements, fire & life safety standards and applicable international hotel standards.

• Manage and monitor the performance of engineering contractors, suppliers and technical service providers.

• Build, recruit, train and develop a strong Engineering team capable of supporting the operation of a large-scale destination resort.

• Establish clear performance objectives, KPIs and development plans for Engineering colleagues.

• Work closely with General Manager, Hotel Leadership Team, Owner representatives, Project Management Team and other departments to ensure smooth project delivery and hotel operations.

• Provide timely technical advice and recommendations to senior management regarding engineering risks, operational continuity, asset protection and capital investment.

• Ensure engineering activities are carried out with minimum impact on guest experience and hotel operations.

• Develop robust contingency plans for critical utilities and systems, particularly considering the unique mountain environment and operational challenges of Ba Na Hills.

• Drive a culture of safety, service excellence, operational efficiency, sustainability and continuous improvement within the Engineering function.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related field.

• 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably within international hotels, resorts or large-scale mixed-use projects.

• 3–5+ years in a senior Engineering leadership role such as Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer / Cluster Engineering.

• Strong experience in hotel pre-opening and commissioning is highly preferred.

• Solid knowledge of MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, BMS and utility systems.

• Experience in CAPEX, budgeting, energy management and asset management.

• Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder management skills.

• Good command of English.

• Experience with an international hotel brand is an advantage.
