The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer in the administration of the hotels Engineering Department, which includes proper operational maintenance, life safety, fire prevention and physical security of the hotel facilities, building, grounds, FF&E, mechanical plant, appurtenances and installations.

• Assist the Chief Engineer in assessment of staff performance of the department
• Ensure high hygiene and grooming of the staffs.
• Prepare work schedule and keep attendance sheet up to date then report to Chief Engineer all absences
• Set up daily briefing and weekly meeting with all staffs.
• To take responsibilities for the day-to-day supervision of employees.
• Ensuring that all activities are performed in accordance with the OH&S, EEO, Rehabilitation and Environmental procedures, legislation or good practice
• Responding to and reporting any hazardous situations
• Reviewing all tasks to assist in improving safety
• Environmental management with employees and contractors
• Be understanding and supportive, encouraging and helpful to all staff.
